NDP Preview @ Oriental Hotel

Last Saturday we went to Oriental for buffet dinner... It was $68 (including all taxes and svc charges) per person. Exp right? Of cos, we have 50% discount. It was very nice and got a variety of desserts and pastries, my fav :) Next wk going for buffet high tea (unknown location yet), hope to have a gd spread of desserts too!

Half-way thru the dinner, we went up the hotel to see the fireworks! Nice! Esp those from the UOB towers or what-ever towers u called that....

I look younger than my younger brother???

Today met brother for dinner...
Incident 1:
On our way to swensen's... We met someone and bro called her "auntie"...
This auntie looked at me with "weird eyes"...
woman's instinct... She must be thinking I am his gf? haha...
true enough, auntie told bro:"U never intro har?"
bro say:"This is my elder sista"
auntie says:"R u sure?"
bro say:"of cos!"
auntie seeked confirmation with me. I nodded my head.
auntie say:"But u look older than her!"
Hahahaha......I'm soooooo happy!!! Fyi, bro is 3YEARS younger than me...
Incident 2:
After dinner at swensen's, accompanied bro to laundry shop. Bro and the lady were talking...
Bro intro to lady: "This is my sista"
Lady :"Younger or older?"*implying that I am the younger sister...*
Bro:"She is 3 yrs my senior!"
Me to lady:"You've made my day!"
Hahahahah.....I'm sooooo happy AGAIN... This is the FIRST time that pple say I look younger than my bro! hahaha... Maybe cos I'm wearing casual wear today? Or maybe bro has looked older? heehee...
2 more yrs to reach the scary "3" and I'm beginning to mind abt this age thing... hahaha

Shopping with mil @ Vivo city

Last sunday, I "invited" my mil to go shopping with me and the 2 kids (hubby gotta work)...
Since she has not been to Vivo city before and I'm thinking of going to Nichii for clothes again, why not?
We went to HK Kim Gary's for lunch. It is really not bad leh, esp. the baked rice... yummy! Not forgetting the yuan-yang! Price is reasonable too! My 3rd time there! Haha...
At Nichii, chose 1 top for mil. Luckily she quite like... We tried the clothes and I bought the one for her. I bought one top for myself too! Hope she is happy lah... She knows she got a stingy daughter-in-law... hahaha... Then, we brought the kids to toyRrus to browse thru the toys and hubby came to join us... Went home shortly after that..
We will be going to BKK in sept together. [yes, u r rite... bangkok again....:( ]
4 of us, with my parents-in-law and one of the auntie... Looking forward to the short break...

MIGRAIN :(

TOday i had my migrain attack. It will usually come after me once every 1-2 months :(
Today's attack was the worst ... It came with x times of vomitting. Colleagues asked if I'm pregnant! My face was white! NO! Dont think otherwise har!
Had my medication but it was of no help....... Afternoon got a meeting and I hoped that I can attend. After struggling for 1hr in office, I went to see doc and had mc for today. It is the 1st MC of this yr.
After the visit to the clinic, I ran to the ladies again. Almost vomitted. I took a cab home and tried not to vomit in the cab. I had a plastic bag with me, jus in case. I was so happy when I saw my block. But, vomitted in the lift, outside the lift, along the corridor, outside my door, luckily i got my plastic bag with me. Sighz... Still can't wait till I reached home. Back to home finally...
Slept for abt 2hrs, luckily din't vomit again... Craving for century egg porridge... DRAGged myself to buy @ coffeeshop downstairs.
After lunch, I felt much better... thinkin back, I wonder how i managed to come home!
Arghhh...

Some updates ....

2 weekends ago, we brought the kids to Ikea together with my mil...

Last Saturday, I attended Valerie's wedding, met some of the poly mates and catched-up with them. Didn't take any photos though...

Last Sunday, we attended my cousin's Allan's wedding. NExt to him is his wife *obviously* Daisy. Warm welcome to Daisy to our family! It has been quite a while since the Tan's Family had a wedding. THe last time is Juliet's wedding, back in 2000, if I'm not wrong...
All of us were extremely happy & excited! 2nd Uncle insisted that I shld "drink tea"... OMG! This is the 1st time! I felt so old *sad* but of cos, felt truely happy for the newly wed! tHough we are cousins of difft surnames, we are all closely bonded since young. PArtly bcos our grandfather "forced" our parents to go to his house every sunday and we had to stay there the whole day. Of cos, the kids then (us) were very happy. Moreover, our age gaps are very close.... Hence, we are all closely bonded :)

The following day, I went to work 2 hrs later than normal cos I knew that I couldnt be able to wake up in time, hence, i took time-off. Reached office at 10am and received a call from my cousin Rena at abt 11+.... 2nd uncle had passed away.... I couldn't believe my ears. Immediately took the day off and went to ttSH... We are all very sad... He fainted at home and couldnt be saved. But at least, he managed to see his son get married!

The following day, I went to work for half a day only. Then, I took leave for the rest of the week. We are all supposed to go to Star Virgo Cruise on Wed-Fri, but all was cancelled. Someone of the higher authority in the branch asked: " Uncle only, go at night and show face only mah, why need to waste your leave? LEave is very important you know?"
I got so upset and replied "My UNCLE is much more impt than my Leave!" Why can't some pple be more understanding?
Anyway, the wake had ended yesterday.... I slept very early last night and by the time I woke up, it was nearly 12noon! I was really tired ...

Everything in life is fated. Hence, treasure while we can!
